IV Therapy  ·  Hinsdale, IL

An IV Is Only Worth Having
If You Are Actually Low In Something.

Most places that hang a bag will sell you one off a menu without ever measuring you. We run your bloodwork in our own lab first, at the same visit, so any infusion is built around what your numbers show. And so we can tell you when the honest answer is that you do not need one.

Why We Test First

A Clinic.
Or A Drip Bar.

Both will put a line in your arm. Only one of them knows what is in your blood before doing it, and that is what decides whether the hour is worth anything.

The process

Measured. Then built.
Then given.

  1. Choose your time.

Pick a time below. Name, phone and email. Nothing is due to book, and the $497 is paid at your visit. Appointments run through the day, including early on Tuesdays and late on Wednesdays.

  2. Bloodwork, read the same visit.

Nutrient status, kidney and liver function, blood count and metabolic markers, run in our own lab while you are in the building. Iron, vitamin D and B12 are measured, not assumed. Your current medications are reviewed for interactions.

  3. An honest recommendation.

If something is genuinely low, we say so and explain what correcting it should and should not be expected to do. If nothing is, we tell you that too, including when an oral supplement would do the same job for a fraction of the cost.

  4. The infusion, where appropriate.

Placed and supervised by clinical staff in a private room. Most sessions take thirty to sixty minutes. You are monitored throughout, and markers are repeated later so the effect is measured rather than assumed.

Straight About The Evidence

What An IV Can
And Cannot Do.

The wellness claims around IV therapy run well ahead of the evidence. Here is where it actually stands.

Measure first. Then decide if a bag is worth it.

Correcting a real deficiency is real medicine. Where a genuine deficiency exists, correcting it may make a meaningful difference to how you feel and function. That is established, and it is the reason we measure.

If you are not deficient, oral is usually enough. For a well-nourished man with a working digestive tract, oral supplements generally achieve what an infusion would, at a fraction of the cost. The main advantages of an IV are speed and bypassing absorption. Those matter when absorption is the problem, and far less when it is not.

The wellness claims outrun the evidence. Vitamin infusions are widely marketed for energy, immunity, focus and recovery. The published evidence for those uses in people who are not deficient is limited. Anyone promising you a specific outcome is going beyond what is known.

It is not risk-free. Any IV line carries a risk of bruising, vein irritation and, uncommonly, infection. A fluid load is not right for everyone; heart and kidney conditions in particular change the picture. Some vitamins and minerals are harmful in excess, which is another reason dosing should follow a measurement.

It does not treat disease. IV therapy here is supportive care, given where clinically appropriate. It is not a treatment for any medical condition and does not replace medical care.

Straight Talk

Who This
Suits.

An infusion is a tool for a measured problem. It is not a menu item.

A Good Fit.

  • A measured deficiency that oral supplements have not corrected
  • Absorption is genuinely the problem, rather than intake
  • Recovering from illness, with markers to show for it
  • You want it built from your numbers, not a menu
  • You are an adult located in Illinois

Not A Fit.

  • You want to pick a bag by its name without being measured
  • Heart or kidney conditions that make a fluid load inadvisable
  • You are looking for a treatment for a diagnosed illness
  • You want it as a hangover fix. That is not what this is
  • You would rather skip the bloodwork

What Patients Say

In Their Words

Real experiences from men who have been here.

Google
“From the moment you walk into Alpha Refinery, the vibe is totally different — it feels more like a cigar lounge than a doctor's office or clinic. It's welcoming, private, and one-on-one. You don't feel like just another number. They really took the time to break everything down in a way that made sense. I love what Alpha Refinery is doing and highly recommend them.”
Antonio P.
Google
“I visited Alpha Refinery today in Hinsdale. I cannot say how pleased I was with the friendly and professional staff, beautiful decor, and modern clinical equipment. I was given results of my blood test within 30 minutes. I did not feel pressured to sign up immediately. I was told prices upfront and given the opportunity to consider my options. I would highly recommend Alpha Refinery.”
Gary G.

“Outstanding knowledge and service compared to two other similar programs I have tried in the past 3 years. Strongly recommended to friends.”
Bill K.
Google
“I'm 56 and I've been to other men's health clinics that either feel way too clinical or lean too heavy into the ‘bro’ vibe. Alpha Refinery is completely different. The team actually wanted to talk with me — not just run me through a checklist. My GP usually just tells me to ‘eat healthy and exercise,’ but here I was given real solutions, clear guidance, and a plan that makes sense for me.”

“Everyone at Alpha Refinery was very kind and extremely knowledgeable. Very professional environment with complimentary mocktails. The whole experience made me feel relaxed and right at home.”

Before you book

Straight Answers
Before You Book.

Does IV therapy actually work?

It depends on whether you are deficient. Correcting a genuine deficiency is established medicine and may make a real difference to how you feel. That is the claim the evidence supports.

The wider wellness claims, such as energy, immunity, focus and recovery in people who are not deficient, are marketed far more confidently than the published evidence justifies. That is why we measure you first rather than hand you a menu.

Why do I need blood work for an IV?

Three practical reasons. It tells us whether you are actually low in anything, which decides whether an infusion is worth your money. It tells us your kidney function, which governs how your body handles a fluid load. And it flags anything else behind the fatigue or poor recovery that brought you in, such as thyroid, iron, sleep or a medication you already take.

Your blood is drawn and run in our own lab during the same visit, so the conversation happens with real numbers in the room.

Wouldn't a supplement do the same thing?

Very often, yes, and we will say so. For a well-nourished man with a working digestive tract, oral supplements generally achieve what an infusion would, at a fraction of the cost. The advantages of an IV are speed and bypassing absorption, which matter when absorption is the problem.

Where oral has genuinely failed to correct a measured deficiency, that is a different and reasonable conversation.

How long does a session take and how will I feel?

Most sessions run thirty to sixty minutes, depending on what is being given. You sit in a private room and are monitored by clinical staff throughout.

Anything involving correction of a deficiency works on the timescale your body rebuilds its stores, which is days to weeks rather than hours. We will set that expectation honestly before you start.

Is it safe? What are the risks?

Any IV line carries some risk of bruising, vein irritation and, uncommonly, infection. That is why it is done by clinical staff in a medical suite rather than a lounge.

A fluid load is not right for everyone. Heart and kidney conditions in particular change the picture, which is one of the things your bloodwork checks. Several vitamins and minerals are harmful in excess, which is the other reason dosing should follow a measurement rather than a menu.

Can IV therapy fix a hangover or treat an illness?

No, and we do not offer it on that basis. IV therapy here is supportive care given where clinically appropriate. It is not a treatment for any medical condition and does not replace medical care. If you have a symptom that concerns you, the right move is to be evaluated, not infused.

How often would I have one?

That depends on what your markers showed and what is being corrected, and it should be answered by re-measuring rather than by a subscription. Where a deficiency is being corrected, we repeat the relevant markers later so the effect is measured. If it is corrected, you stop.

What does it cost?

The Alpha Performance Assessment is $497, paid at your visit. Nothing is due to book. That visit is what establishes whether an infusion is worth having.

Infusion pricing is discussed at the visit once we know what, if anything, you need. We are cash-pay and do not bill insurance. Itemized receipts for HSA and FSA submission are provided.
